A roller container is a structure capable of transporting loads both horizontally and at a slight angle. With this type of conveyor, the load moves under the action of inertia via rollers mounted at equal intervals. Roller conveyors are widely used in various industrial sectors for moving containers, boxes, or pallets with rigid, flat bases. They are used in warehouses, logistics, distribution, and manufacturing. The conveyor drive can be selected according to the specific application. Whether driven by gravity, chain, friction drive, or driven rollers, all systems offered by mk Group can be used to implement straight and curved conveyors.
In an environment where heavy loads are a constant challenge, the choice of high-quality roller conveyors can significantly impact operational efficiency. From conveyor rollers for heavy-duty applications used in high-capacity systems to stainless steel conveyor rollers designed for strength and flexibility, the right components ensure smooth operation and reduced maintenance, and the combination of strength, durability, and performance cannot be overlooked.
The wide range of roller types for roller conveyors offered by mk allows conveyors to be adapted to any specific application. In addition, conveyors can be segmented, providing different speeds or start/stop functions within a single transport route.
Gravity roller conveyors RBS from mk
This type of roller conveyor is often used for semi-automatic connection of picking stations or shelves in a kanban system for warehouse equipment. Users can choose rollers with sizes between ø 20 and 50 mm depending on the total load and the required transport distance. For example, the RBS-P 2065 is the best choice if the profile frame does not need to act as a side rail – as is the case with the RBS-P 2066 – or if the product is wider than the roller conveyor. When products are transported using the gravity principle, the required incline is 1 to 2°.
RBT roller conveyors with tangential chain drive from mk
RBT roller conveyors with tangential chain drive are used wherever long transport routes with a motorized drive mechanism are required. The conveyor is driven by a ½” chain that runs in a closed, wear-resistant guide, driving the conveyor rollers tangentially from below with the aid of a sprocket wheel. RBT conveyors can be used to drive transport routes up to 10 m in length. Rollers supported by ball bearings are mounted at the ends to change the direction of the chain for minimal friction losses.
RBM motorized roller conveyors from mk
RBM motorized roller conveyors allow up to nine additional rollers to be driven using a round belt. They feature few cross edges and an easy-to-clean design, making them suitable for clean environments and increased hygiene requirements. On request, RBM roller conveyors are also available in an IP66 protection class version or with an electronic holding brake for uphill and downhill inclines.
Friction-driven roller conveyors from mk
mk also offers friction-driven roller conveyors for dynamic buffers. With these roller conveyors, the counterforce is reduced and the roller remains stationary under the product without any relative movement. Bidirectional friction is preferable if the load distribution is not precisely defined. Adjustable friction rollers are particularly useful for light products. Product retention can be increased to the limit of adhesion between the product and the roller. This is used, for example, for higher acceleration, inclines, or for positioning products.
